Early style 1886 with non-removable hilt. Frog is scarce black model. I
have found no reference to Italy using these, but this frog and bayonet have
been together and worn together for a long time. The wear pattern on the
frog finish matches this bayonet. Very interesting set in exceptional
condition.

Look at Labar pg 354 for a very similar scabbard. This one is for a
narrower belt though (about 1 inch). The leather is stamped with a Z inside
a circle, tip missing. Bayonet is Crown T marked and the blade made by
Steyr. Very scarce bayonet.

conversion, that I have not seen published anywhere. An Austrian style frog
stud is riveted onto the scabbard. It fits right into a German 84/98 frog.
It is in the white like the German used bayonets. Is this a German
conversion, Austrian, or someone else. I donŐt know, but it is quite rare.
Scabbard has been repainted.

| C026 | Sweden 1915 Trials bayonet n/s. This was part of
the trials to fix a longer bayonet to the 1896 rifle without adversely
affecting the shot groups. I believe this is type B2, 26 B models were made
in two types. Long TO Pommel, 40 mm between grip bolts, and 480 mm single
edged blade, oval muzzle ring. The blade has some old pitting and has been
cleaned and polished. The grips have been carefully replaced. Genuine
example of a fascinating trial series.

on blade face. Bayonet near mint condition, but has the initials GW lightly
scratched into the blade face. Scabbard is a very rare Militia Shoulder Belt
scabbard. Leather body, brass tip. Frog has a varnish type finish. Two
shoulder belt loops with buttons for attachement. One button missing, one
loop incomplete. Frog partially torn where the missing button was. Rare bayonet
and very rare scabbard.

n/s. Commonly called the Snell model. This is one of the rare examples that
was actually fitted to a rifle. C20 is the mating number stamped on the
front edge of the muzzle ring. Rear ring is not present, but screw bolt is
still in place. The latching mechanism is present and working well. Mild
pitting on the blade with a small area of moderate pitting. A 1.5 inch
section of the blade edge has 4 nicks, otherwise the edge is nice. Nice
example of a very scarce bayonet.

lately is that these bayonets sat in a wharehouse and werenŐt issued.
However, here is clearly one with battle damage. B.H. stamp on back of hilt.
C on the cross guard on one side and H on the other. The bayonet was
violently broken off from the rifle. The muzzle ring was snapped off, the
stud ripped from the rifle (it is still in the mortise slot), the quillon
cracked, and the blade bent a bit. A very interesting CW bayonet that tells
quite a story.

These Winchester made bayonets are very hard to find. Hilt is beautiful. Blade is unsharpened, but has some small areas of dark color and light pitting. These could be mostly polished out. Scabbard is triangle T marked and in superb condition. A super rare set in exceptional condition.

It is a shortened 1873 scabbard. These were found together and I am listing them as I found them.
