collection as well. AH2278 and T4999 are stamped on cross guard.

Basically a copy of the French ANIX probably made in Liege. I normally keep
these things, but this is double for me. Crown over IP on the shank, 21 on
the ricasso. German style numbers and mating slash marks on the end of the

| A236 | Carter Vol 1, #66, & pg 70 | German 1898/05 V notch Police bayonet w/s. This is
one of the best 98/05s Iıve ever had. It has so many rare features. The
double maker is Durkopf and Koeller. This combination of makers is extremely
rare. Only one sawback version was recorded by Carter. The bayonet
subsequenty had the sawback removed, 1920 stamped on the cross guard, the
pommel V notched, and the slot filled with aluminum. The bayonet is marked
S.B.321, the scabbard S.B.So.III.157. The scabbard tip is damaged.

appealing. Original paint. Machining marks still visible on blade. The

have this on consignment from a collector in Germany.

experimental Vulcanized Rubber Scabbard. Patented in 1906. This is one
piece oval extruded rubber scabbard. It looks just like the leather
scabbard, but without the seam. The bayonet hilt has no hump and the pommel
is more beaked. But, it is the right length and configuration fro the 71/84.
Ring removed. Blade isnıt plated and is marked with the Eichorn squirrels.
Very interesting set.

Very scarce and interesting bayonet would have been in service in WWI, reused
in the Weimar era, and then issued to the Luftwaffe in WWII.

Interesting conversion that is not listed in Carter. Closest to EB105, but
with only a two step hilt. No modification to the muzzle ring. I believe
this would be for the 71 rifle. Knights head marking on ricasso, arsenal
mark on back of blade has been removed. S# on cross guard appears to have
been removed. S# still on scabbard, but also regimentally marked
63.L.I.1.43. Inspection stamp on frog stud. Unquestionably genuine.

purchase bayonet based on the 71/84. Humped back hilt, not slotted. Blade
is etched Mit Gott fur Kaiser und Reich on one side, the other side has an
equipment pack with a German helmet under a flag with a large cross on it.
No maker mark. The scabbard is very fancy with a shaped frog stud and
finial. Fittings are plated. Original frog is superb. This is a high
quality item.
